This 12 nights tour enables travelers to discover Western Anatolia and Istanbul in comfortable First class hotels at a very competitive price.

- Possibility to participate a Hot Air Balloon Ride over the magnificent landscape of Cappadocia.

The attached program is based on Saturday arrival in Turkey. You will receive your itinerary after your reservation has been confirmed by us. There will not be any changes in the itinerary, overnights and places to visit. Dates of your accommodations and visits in Istanbul may change depending on your arrival day.

 

Day 1 Istanbul Saturday    
 
Upon arrival meet with Pacha Tours representative and transfer to your hotel. Attend briefing about your journey in Turkey at 7pm.
 
Day 2 Istanbul Sunday   Breakfast, Lunch
 
Visit a World Heritage, Haghia Sophia, built in the 6th century. Cruise on the Bosphorus towards the Black Sea. Lunch at a seafood restaurant. Back to the old city to visit St. Savior in Chora Church.
 
Day 3 Istanbul Monday   Breakfast, Lunch
 
Explore more of Istanbul: the Blue Mosque; the Hippodrome; the Topkapi Palace and the Spice Market (Egyptian Bazaar). End the day at the Grand Bazaar.
 
Day 4 Istanbul - Bolu Tuesday 165 miles Breakfast, Dinner
 
Morning at leisure for some "off the beaten tracks" discovery of Istanbul until departure at 1pm. Drive to Bolu the Green, and a nice rest until dinner, following the hustle & bustle of Istanbul.
 
Day 5 Bolu - Ankara - Cappadocia Wednesday 295 miles Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
 
You are in Ankara, the Capital, in 3hrs. Today's highlight is the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations; we will also stop at the Mausoleum of Ataturk, father of modern Turkey. Continue to Cappadocia.
 
Day 6 Cappadocia Thursday 30 miles Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
 
TURKISH DELIGHT 6A full day tour to explore Cappadocia. Visit the Red Valley; Goreme Valley, an open-air museum with rock-cut churches (7th-13th centuries) adorned with biblical frescoes. Learn about the art and crafts of rural Turkey at a handicraft center, and attend a lecture on Turkish hand-made rugs. Next is the Underground City. Photo stops at Uchisar and Avcilar, best vista points on the way to the hotel. Optional hot air balloon ride by dawn over the volcanic landscape of Cappadocia is recommended.
 
Day 7 Cappadocia - Konya - Antalya Friday 335 miles Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
 
Drive to Konya. En route, stop at the Sultanhan Caravanserai - a hotel for merchants during the Seljuk period - 13th century. In Konya, visit the Museum of Mevlana, the famous mystic poet, and founder of the Sufi Order of the Whirling Dervishes. In the afternoon, continue to Antalya.
 
Day 8 Antalya Saturday 55 miles Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
 
Today, two magnificent Roman sites are on our agenda; Aspendos with the best preserved Roman Theater and Perge, a spectacular Greco-Roman city. On the return to Antalya, discover the tradition of jewellery making on this soil while visiting one of the largest jewellers of Turkey. Later in the afternoon, visit Old Antalya - Kaleici will be visited to enjoy strolling through picturesque streets of the old port.
 
Day 9 Antalya - Pamukkale Sunday 210 miles Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
 
TURKISH DELIGHT 9In the morning, cross the Taurus Mountains, and drive to Aphrodisias, the ancient city dedicated to Aphrodite, the goddess of Beauty, Love and Fertility. Continue to Pamukkale, a unique natural site. Visit this "Cotton Castle" where the hot waters, leaving their limestone deposits, have created an unreal landscape with petrified waterfalls and basins; and Hierapolis, an ancient Roman health spa whose well preserved necropolis is one of the largest in the ancient world.

Head towards the Aegean Sea, to Ephesus, the most fascinating city of the ancient world. Visit the ruins of Ephesus and the remains of the Temple of Artemis -one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Virgin Mary's House is also in today's agenda.
 
Day 11 Ephesus - Pergamum - Troy - Canakkale Tuesday 240 miles Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
 
Drive North, to Pergamum, another important city of the ancient times where they invented Parchment. Visit the Acropolis and the Asclepion-home to Galen in medical history, a sanctuary and healing center dedicated to Asclepius ,the god of healing. Continue to the legendary city of Troy to recall Homer and his 'Iliad'. Overnight in Canakkale on Dardanelles.
 
Day 12 Canakkale - Gallipoli - Istanbul Wednesday 205 miles Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
 
Cross the Dardanelles to Europe by ferry. Drive to 'Gallipolli' where the dramatic battles of WWI took place. Brief visit of the battlefields. Continue to Istanbul.

DAY 2, SAT: ISTANBUL
Upon arrival you will meet with our representative and transfer to your hotel. This evening, enjoy a leisurely dinner at your own.

DAY 3, SUN: ISTANBUL, BL
Visit imposing Haghia Sophia. Cruise on the Bosphorus. Lunch at a fish restaurant. In the afternoon, visit St. Savior in Chora Church (Kariye Museum).

DAY 4, MON: ISTANBUL, BL
A full day tour to explore Istanbul: visit the Blue Mosque; the Hippodrome; the Topkapi Palace
and the Spice Market (Egyptian Bazaar). End the day at Grand Bazaar.

DAY 5, TUE: ISTANBUL - ANKARA, BLD
Drive to Ankara. Visit the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations. We will briefly stop to see the Anitkabir, the Mausoleum of Ataturk, father of modern Turkey.

DAY 6, WED: ANKARA – HATTUSHA – CAPPADOCIA, BLD
Drive to Bogazkale to visit Hattusha, the capital of the powerful Hittites. You will also visit the rock sanctuary of Yazilikaya. Continue to Cappadocia.

DAY 7, THU: CAPPADOCIA, BLD
That morning you have the possibility to participate a Hot Air Balloon Ride over the magnificent landscape of Cappadocia. Visit the Blue Mosque, recognizable from its six minarets, built between 1609 and 1616 for Sultan Ahmet I and decorated inside with 21,043 tiles from Iznik in a dominant blue color; the Hippodrome where political, cultural, and sports activities took place during Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman times; Topkapi Palace, the residence of the Ottoman sultans between the end of the 15th and the first half of the 19th centuries, with its treasures, terraces overlooking the Marmara Sea, the Bosphorus and the Golden Horn... You will end the day at the historical Grand Bazaar. Lunch during sightseeing.

Morning, visit imposing Haghia Sophia which marked the apogee of Byzantine Emperor Justinian's reign; Rustempasa Mosque with its beautiful Iznik (Nicea) tiles, and the Spice Market with its exotic spices and aromas. Cruise on the Bosporus that separates Asia from Europe and connects the Marmara Sea to the Black Sea. You will get the best views of the city and most of the historical monuments in Istanbul. All along the strait and on both shores, you will discover the marble Palaces of Dolmabahce, Beylerbeyi, the beautiful wooden Ottoman villas called "yali" (water-side residences), the medieval forteresses etc. Lunch at a fish restaurant along the Bosphorus. Afternoon, visit of St Savior in Chora (Kariye Museum) whose mosaics and frescoes are among the most beautiful in the Byzantine World.
 
Day 4       Lunch
 
Morning, visit Dolmabahce Palace, the somptuous new official residence of the sultans after 1856. Cross the suspended bridge over the Bosphorus to reach the Asian side of Istanbul and visit Beylerbeyi Palace, which was the summer residence of the imperial family. Continue to Uskudar for lunch in this old typical quarter from where you will discover the Maiden's Tower located in the middle of the Bosphorus. Drive up to Camlica Hill where you will enjoy one of the best panoramas over the city. Discover the residential quarters of Asian Istanbul. At the end of the day, return by boat to the European side and take the funicular to the quarter of Pera. Free time on Istiklal street where you can find the flower market, lots of shops, cafes and restaurants.
